I love fake people provided they are mannequins.― Pushpa Rana
NYC is exhausting and requires that other people make food for you at late hours. The best part of this city is that you can actually experience non-technology "on demand" real life entertainment by the characters that make up this insane jungle. Tonight the guy behind the bar started busting out scary white boy trying to be Flavor Fav moves to Nicki Minaj. Just as I thought it was safe to distract myself with my side of Kale, he got all "eclipse energy" in my face and said "Don't you just love Nikki Minaj?!"
Don't get me wrong, I own a good portion of Minaj's clothing line thanks to many last ditch "I need something cheap to wear to yoga now" moments when I perpetually leave home without the proper gear (and Kmart is the most viable non-$100 yoga pant option closest to my yoga shala). Anyway, back to some moral of the story... So my response to the question: was "Um- yeah-sure as in cheap entertainment in moments like this. But you know, it's not real." And his response, "Are you sure? What if this is the most real thing there is?"
Sadly he has a point. Reality is subjective. Who am I to argue about Niki Minaj's status? And you know what, due to my addicted to distractions brain, she is my yoga clothing savior, realer than the real. I might not have even known who she was if I had been present and able to get said yoga clothes into the bag, so one could even say that Nicki Minaj is my guru, and what's more real than that?
But alas, in true Pisces eclipse fashion... I digress. This New Moon Solar Eclipse energy at the last degree of the last sign of the Zodiac is all about leading us from the Unreal to the Real,... from the Ephemeral to the Eternal.
The ephemera is a bit out of control these days. But who am I to judge? How do we know the unreal cannot take us to the real? What about the "fabulous" fakes? Trust me I find myself on many a high horse when I smell fake. It's hard to watch so many touting themselves as overnight gurus, coaches and experts on the F-Book these days. I wonder what one weekend-wonder online instant, on-demand certification course they never attended that endowed them with such marketable status. I want to throw scalding hot kale at these born-again witches posing with crystals and preaching about how pink glitter, self love and shopping will make all of the darker shadow issues go away. If I see one more new age poser with a crystal ball, tarot cards and "Jung" listed on a deli-like specialty menu along with "remote viewing" and "raw food" .., I am closer than ever to changing my name to Jim and getting a job pumping gas. I feel continually dumbstruck by how few are willing to consider/acknowledge/appreciate just how much time, energy and patience goes into personal transformation. And yet that too is being sold as another "on demand" feature.
But all is not lost. Maya, illusion, the "unreal" is all part of the divine play and we've got to be in it to win it. Just don't lose your sense of humor, or timing.
Let us remind ourselves every day that "I am not this limited, ephemeral body. I am Shiva. My nature is the Supreme Consciousness." ~ Amma
We are ending a nineteen year karmic cycle. Let the old stories and addictions wash to shore. See through the BS. Laugh like it's all an uproarious joke, because it is. Use your imagination for magic, for manifestation, for dreaming. Discern the real from the fake. Saturn is stationing at the moment and getting ready to retrograde back to Scorpio. We're not done with the deeps. There's one more karmic score to settle this summer.
Keep it real!x Sherene
