A Question of Commitment and Depth
“Nobody sees anybody truly but all through the flaws of their own egos. That is the way we all see ...each other in life. Vanity, fear, desire, competition-- all such distortions within our own egos-- condition our vision of those in relation to us. Add to those distortions to our own egos the corresponding distortions in the egos of others, and you see how cloudy the glass must become through which we look at each other. That's how it is in all living relationships except when there is that rare case of two people who love intensely enough to burn through all those layers of opacity and see each other's naked hearts.”
― Tennessee Williams

Saturn is a bit of an ascetic and known for his cruel and destructive gaze. He likes to take it all away (especially in Scorpio) in order to help us develop a proper backbone. He rules cold and rigid things, old age, depression and has little interest in the world of feelings or indulgence. He will not mollycoddle and he’s about as stoic as it gets. Saturn is the master of austerity. Venus on the other hand wants love, beauty, affection, sensual pleasure, comfort and connection (especially while in Taurus). How to get these two on the same page, psychologically?... that is the question right now!
It’s really a matter of loyalty, isn’t it? We want to go deep, we want it to feel spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally connected ....and we want it to be beautiful. But if we take our love or commitments for granted, erosive and destructive energies start seeping in. This is what we are seeing now at this major crossroads, and choice point.
Whether making art, love or money (Venus adores these domains) we’re caught in the grips between our instincts to grow a lovely garden that can sustain for the long haul and an intense determination to destroy all of the weeds and dross before we become ensnared in the death trap of entropy.
How do we make good mud?
What is a good investment? What do we desire? How do we respond to those who desire us? Reject us? Do we save or blow the bank? What invokes our loyalty and endurance in love? Where do we invest our passions?
