On Friday, October 26th Venus will reach her exact inferior conjunction with the Sun thus officially ending her Heperus phase and beginning her deep descent into the Underworld before re-emerging in her Phosphorous/Lucifer state as the Morning Star.

The 40 Days and 40 Nights temptation of Jesus in the desert echo the Venus Retrograde journey, uncovering our shadow sister patterns via treacherous love affairs, financial debacles and wars with our body. Venus Retrograde invites us to claim our beauty, redefine our values and honor our beauty from the inside out. It requires a dismantling of the "male gaze" and patriarchal residue that infiltrates our collective unconscious on deep and destructive levels.

For Seven Days and Seven nights, like Inanna, we will descend through the Seven Gates, resonate with the Seven Chakras of our subtle bodies through rituals, journaling, Jungian Active Imagination, Tarot spreads and more.

Regardless of where you live in the world, you can join us for this online alchemical intensive. The 7-Day program was built on the original Saturnian Seven Categories that Sherene would work with in her own diary as a means to give structure to her reflections. She has found them so powerful as an ongoing tool for healing and self-reflection. They are as follows: CONFESSION, ORACLE, INSPIRATION, RELINQUISH, DREAMS, and BODY. We combine these with a powerful blend of ritual, journaling, creative art therapy, astrology, tarot and alchemy.

ONE:  CONFESSION

This was the basis to all forms of therapy. We all need a sacred space where we can unburden our psyches from the guilt, fear and shame we often hide even from ourselves. Self-deception creates self-sabotage. By getting to the truth, your energy, confidence and sense of personal power return to you ten-fold.

 

 TWO: ORACLE

Paying special attention to the signs, symbols, animal totems, inner promptings and myriad forms of synchronicity that show up to guide, confirm, alert, or open us up to messages from the unconscious and our guides.

 

 THREE: INSPIRATION

Manifesting via inspiration through the arts and writing to tap into core feelings. Rituals to root you back to your inner source of power.

FOUR: STRUCTURE

Retrogrades are excellent times to revamp the daily structures in our lives that create the foundation for future success. Time management, self-care, and keeping a clutter-free schedule.

 FIVE: RELINQUISH

 

Here we will hone in on what needs to go! We all talk a good game about relinquishing that which no longer serves us, but are we ready to truly release that grip? It takes ritual, support and planetary timing. We are blessed with the opportunity to employ all three during this potent eclipse season

We will focus on the inner working of our dreams. Even if you haven't been able to recall a specific dream during the Seven Days, you can work with the last one that you can recall or even a recurring dream image. We will share techniques to help you recall your dreams in the future and to work with them as a means of opening up the dialogue with your unconscious.

 

 SEVEN: BODY

Here we will work herbs, tinctures, essential oils, and some specific movement, meditation and somatic techniques to heal the body during this Venus Rx cycle.

Sherene Vismaya's bio

Sherene Schostak, M.A. is a Jungian analyst,  and astrologer in private practice in NYC and San Francisco for the past eighteen years consulting, writing and teaching. She specializes in depression, shadow work, anxiety, creative blocks, eating disorders, and relationships. Sherene has pioneered her own unique approach to Jungian and somatic healing modalities combined with her background in metaphysics inspired by her yearly pilgrimages to India. 

She is the co-author of  Speculation Now; Transpersonal Astrology: Explorations at the Frontier, & Surviving Saturn's Return (McGrawHill). She holds a Master's Degree from New York University in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Developmental Psychology from Pace University and post-graduate work in psychoanalytic studies from The New School and ISAP, Zurich. She has been the resident astrologer for Elle Magazine for the past decade. Sherene teaches classes and workshops internationally.

Katelan Foisy, La Gitana

 

Katelan V. Foisy is a visual artist, writer, and occultist who specializes in vintage style mixed media art and photography. Her illustrations are featured in the Sibyls Oraculum with Tayannah McQuillar, Inner Traditions/Simon & Schuster 2018. Chaos of the Third Mind with Vanessa Sinclair is set for 2019 from Fulgar Ltd, UK.  Her art is featured in William Patrick Corgan's solo album Ogilala, merchandise for the tour, and backdrops.

Katelan has been featured in NY Times, Elle Magazine, GQ Italy, Paper Magazine, VICE,and Time Out NY and on WGN for her work as an artist, occultist, and gallery curation.

She has read at the London National Poetry Society, and presented with Atlas Obscura, hosted salons at NYC's Science House,  flash gigs with OVADA in Oxford, and speaks at Pratt Institute regularly on illustration and promotion.  Katelan has written for Motherboard/VICE,  Electric Literature, Luna Luna, ERIS Magazine,  Fenris Wolf, and COILHOUSE. 

An occultist with over 20 years experience, Katelan is often called on by companies such as BBC America, Swarovski and the CFDA to participate as a trusted reader for large events. She resides in Chicago and travels regularly.
